The cat who had inspired this project is no longer with me— don’t worry, she is in very good hands. From hiding under the bed (the cat, not me), to eventually taking naps together— I think we came a long way.
I think it was during one of my usual “toe bean harassment” moment that I realised something— sometimes a soul quietly grows on us, and we learn to love in ways we never expected. 💕
A big part of that love shows when I was shopping for her.
I loved everything about it. Hopping from website to website, scrolling endlessly, opening way too many tabs just to end up buying nothing. But the best part was always imagining her reaction to every new toy, snack, or random little thing I found.
The excitement.
The curiosity.
The “I think she’ll love this” feeling.
Sometimes she did.
Sometimes she judged me for my choices.
And I realised shopping for pets isn’t really just about buying things.
The experience itself becomes part of loving them— the discovery, the excitement, the tiny moments of joy along the way.
I think that’s what MeanPets is really about.
